Scandinavian and Nordic facilities, destinations and events you won't find anywhere else. We introduce you to Scandinavia in all its natural splendor through dramatic photo features by some of Scandinavia's best photographers. Scandinavia is known for hospitality, friendliness and an environment - be it urban, rural or wilderness - of unsurpassed beauty.

Travel Scandinavia with children - a special feature with illustrations by Roxie Munro and photo and text by Bo Zaunders in our issue 11. Caring for children is very much a part of tradition in Scandinavia.

Travel to the little "Disneylands" all over Scandinavia - Denmark’s Legoland, the Astrid Lindgren World of Pippi Longstocking and her friends or the Junibacken in Stockholm, Sweden, the Moominworld, in Naantalin, Finland - where children can enter the worlds of their own favorite fiction. Scandinavians excel in keeping their children visible and well cared for. To provide entertainment and special places for their offspring they will sometimes go to extraordinary lengths, such as installing a playroom next to the Absolut Bar at the Ice Hotel, or , as once noticed in Skagen, Denmark, build a sandbox beneath the rafters of the local pub.

A visit to Scandinavia can be far from the ordinary experience - American by birth, Scandinavian by heritage of our issue 11. The father-son team of Robert and Loren Paulson have made capturing the beauty of the Nordic countries their lives’ mission. The clean, the untouched, the serenity of Scandinavia and its peoples are what the Paulsons photography emits. Here, on this spread, exemplified by Norway.
Geography fact, Norway:  Bergen, one of the most beautiful places on earth, is also one of the rainiest. Umbrellas can be purchased from coin-operated dispensing machines.

Food fact: Of all the Scandinavian peoples, the Norwegians eat the most fish and shellfish, on average 55 kilos (121 lb) per year.
